Meet Our Veterinary Team

Dr. Sarah Miller

Veterinarian

Dr. Sarah Miller has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Austin area since 2013 and has a passion for dog and cat internal medicine, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery, as well as the treatment of small exotic species including rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, small rodents, and reptiles. She is a Fear Free certified professional and a member of both the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV) and The Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV). A 2010 graduate from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Miller moved to Texas immediately after finishing school and has made it her home ever since. In her free time, she enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with her family.

McKenzie H., LVT

Licensed Veterinary Technician

McKenzie has been in the veterinary field since 2018 and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2023. She joined Agave Veterinary Care and Exotics in May 2023. When she’s not working, she enjoys going on hikes with her dogs and relaxing at home with her many cats and reptiles

Kristi

Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Technician

Kristi A. joined the team as a kennel tech/technician assistant in June 2024. Kristi spent almost 25 years working as an attorney in state government, but retired from that career in 2023 to pursue her passion for caring for companion animals through a second career in the veterinary field. She is currently enrolled in the veterinary technology program at Austin Community College and expects to earn her veterinary technology degree and licensure as a veterinary technician in 2025. In her free time, Kristi spends time with her partner, three dogs, and two cats. She also engages in many hobbies and interests, including running, woodworking, gardening, and camping.

Jessica

Customer Service Representative

Jessica is our Customer Service Representative. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2012 and joined Agave Vet Care in July of 2024. She loves animals and enjoys her downtime reading or watching movies/television. She also loves spending time with her family.

Lily

Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Technician

Lily is currently a senior in highschool and plans to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine at Texas A&M. Outside of work and school she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going swimming and hiking with her dogs.

Rhagen

Veterinary Assistant

Rhagen recently relocated to the Leander area from Houston with her fiancé. She has been in the veterinary field for over 8 years and joined Agave Veterinary Care in June 2023. She has two dogs, a German Shepherd named Piper and an Australian Shepherd named Bailey. When not at work, Rhagen loves to go to the lake and spend time with family and her dogs.

Alyssa

Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Technician
Alyssa joined Agave in April 2024. She began working with animals as a zookeeper and has found an interest in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. In her free time, she likes to try new things and spend time with her friends, family, and many pets.

Edna N., LVT

Practice Manager

Edna N is our practice manager and joined our team in 2023. She began her career in the veterinary field in 2011 working in a mixed large animal practice outside of San Antonio. It was here when she decided to pursue it as a full time career and began attending Palo Alto College. In 2014 she graduated with a degree in veterinary technology and earned her LVT license. After graduation she went on to work in private practice during the week and began volunteering in the veterinary hospital at the San Antonio Zoo on the weekends. It was here where she discovered her love for exotic animal medicine. She moved to Austin in 2016 and worked at a local exotic animal hospital for about 8 years. In 2021 she began adjuncting at Austin Community College where she gets to pursue her second passion; teaching and education. During her free time she enjoys dancing, gardening and spending time with her friends and loved ones. Her pets include 3 dogs, a bearded dragon and a fuzzy tarantula named Pinky.
