Pet Vaccines

Vaccinations are the cornerstone of preventative health care. Many serious and life threatening disease can now be prevented with routine vaccines. Vaccinations are cleaner and safer now more than ever thanks to modern advancements in vaccine technology.

Once vaccinated against disease, an animal’s body develops antibodies and disease-fighting cells that can defend against illnesses. Vaccines offer a cost-effective defense against infectious and communicable diseases for both people and pets when given by your veterinarian.

We will suggest vaccination schedules based on your pet’s age, species, and lifestyle during the wellness examination. Puppies and kittens need frequent vaccinations when they are young. Their maternal antibodies from their mother (their initial protection in the world), prevent the vaccines from being fully protective. It can feel like these tiny patients are getting a lot of vaccines, but staying on schedule with their boosters in the only way to ensure they are protected. Once fully grown, they will adopt a long term vaccination protocol, with vaccines given every 1-3 years.

Please bring your previous veterinary records, and we can help you determine what vaccines are appropriate for your individual pet.
